About Sturgeon County
Sturgeon County is a diverse, active community that pioneers opportunities and promotes initiative while embracing rural lifestyles. Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park
More than 235 bird species have been recorded at Big Lake, with some 180 recorded annually. At-risk species that use the lake include Trumpeter Swans, Sprague's Pipits, Peregrine Falcons, Short-eared Owls and Bald Eagles that nest on the west end of the lake.

Bellerose River Walk
Enjoy this 7.6-km out-and-back trail near St. Albert, Alberta. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 48 min to complete. This trail is great for birding, hiking, and mountain biking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
